History: Norman Osborn was born out of wedlock to an Isafaro soldier and a nurse. The Isafaro soldier thought he wouldn't be coming home and wanted one night where he felt alive. That night left a woman pregnant due to failed contraceptives and conceived Norman Osborn. The soldier was correct in his assumption as he was killed. The nurse later gave birth to her son calling him Norman. The nurse later become a doctor and began treating soldiers injured from the war. This lead her to her new love Ambrose Osborn. They were married and she and her son adopted the Osborn name and all was swell until Ambrose became an alcoholic and physically abused both his new wife and stepson due to his inability to provide for his family.
Norman came to despise his stepfather and vowed to be a better breadwinner and father. He studied chemistry and electrical engineering and fell in love with his college sweetheart, got married and she gave birth to his son Harold "Harry" Osborn and co-founded Oscorp with his former professor Mendel Stromm. Since he gave up the bulk of the financing the company was named after him. A name he planned to make mean something to spite his stepfather.
Norman would later get his partner arrested so he can get his hands on the Goblin Formula. A formula said to enhance the user physical capabilities making them superior to regular soldiers. Wanting to one day sell this to the military, he tested on himself, but unbeknownst to him his neglected son tampered with it out of spite causing a massive explosion that hospitalized Norman. After he recovered, he learned that the test was a success and he had enhanced strength, agility, endurance, and reflexes to the average man, but the side-effects made him cave into insanity. Norman adopted the Green Goblin persona to hide his insanity from the general public. By day he was Norman Osborn, C.E.O. of Oscorp, and by night he was the Green Goblin!
